Doom 3 BFG Edition kommt im Herbst

Auf einer dt. sprachigen id Software Fanseite fand ich folgende Infos:


Remastertes Doom 3 in HD, Konsolen Features, 3D Modus, neue Solo Kampagne, alle Doom Titel

Im Juni soll Quake 4 für Xbox 360 und PC wieder aufgelegt werden. Jetzt die nächste Überraschung. Nein, es geht nicht um das heiss erwartete Rage DLC. Und es handelt sich auch nicht um die id tech 5 Modtools.

Für den Herbst wurde eine Doom 3 BFG Edition angekündigt, eine remasterte und erweiterte HD Version von Doom 3 (2004). Die BFG Edition soll für die Systeme PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 erscheinen. Doom 3 erhält sowas wie einen Directors Cut. Remasterte Grafik in HD, erweitertes Rendering und verbesserte Lichteffekte, 3D Modus, Support für Head-Mounted Displays, 5.1 Surround Sound. Von einigen spezifischen Konsolen-Features ist die Rede. Die BFG Edition enthält die Spiele DOOM, DOOM 2, DOOM 3 und Addon Resurrection of Evil, sowie die brandneue Solo-Kampagne "Lost Mission." Das bedeutet der komplette Doom Backkatalog wird hier zusammengefasst in einer einzigen Version!

• John Carmack in der Presse-Erklärung: "Today, the full experience has been enhanced and extended to be better than ever, and is delivered across all the platforms with a silky smooth frame rate and highly responsive controls."

• The graphics have been enhanced. 3D graphics support will be native.

• The game will have a brand-new control scheme on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Konsolen erhalten ein Checkpoint Save System und Achievements/Trophies.

• Gleichzeitig Taschenlampe und Schiessen durch integrierte Taschenlampe in der Rüstung: Xbox 360 players will be able to use their flashlight and gun at the same time. DOOM 3 now features the new armor-mounted flashlight, allowing players to illuminate dark corners and blast enemies at the same time.

Carmack hatte mal geäussert das er die frühere Entscheidung, entweder Taschenlampe zu zücken oder zu Schiessen heute unglücklich fände. Auf PC war das kein Problem, es gab kleine Gameplay Mods die das zuliessen.

• Neue nicht veröffentlichte Doom 3 Solo-Kampagne: A brand-new, "lost" mission for Doom 3 with seven new levels, a new boss and two-to-three hours of content.

The new Doom 3 "Lost Mission" will put players in the boots of "Bravo Team," the company of space marines players were originally sent to save in Doom 3. The Lost Mission begins with one of the Bravo Team members waking up in a Wraith kill room, and having to help a group of scientists shut down a teleporter to Earth, before the demons invade and ruin everything. The Lost Mission takes place concurrent with the timeframe of the Doom 3 story, and will help fill in some of the gaps, as well as offer players a few hours of new content. Combined with the tweaked, revamped and prettier Doom 3 and the two original Dooms, the total package will be, in John Carmack's words: "quite a long offering."

• Doom 3 Addon Resurrection of Evil wurde hierzulande indiziert und wird laut gamestar in der deutschen Version der Doom 3 BFG Edition nicht enthalten sein.

• Head Mounted Display Support

Der eine oder andere hatte es auf Carmacks Twitter zuletzt schon mitbekommen, er testete HMS. John Carmack: "New support for 3D TVs, monitors, and head mounted displays also allows players to experience the game with more depth than ever before. We think shooter fans everywhere will love it."
