Hmmm... so peinlich es mir ist, und ich mir eigentlich auch sicher bin dass es so einen Thread schon irgendwo mal gab, brauche ich Eure Hilfe.
Will bei einem Freund, bzw. dessen Kinder, das neue Dashboard "installieren". Die haben aber kein Live.
Man kann es doch bestimmt runterladen, auf CD / DVD brennen und dann so installieren?!
Bitte um einen Link zu so einem Thema bzw. Hilfe.

Your other option is to download a file from Xbox.com and burn a DVD or CD. Use this method if you don't have your console connected to broadband, or if you use a dialup connection to the Internet. You could even do this at a friend's house who has a broadband Internet connection and a DVD or CD burner.
To create an update disc you need the following:
A DVD or CD burner.
A blank, writeable DVD or CD.
The update file from Xbox.com.
This procedure involves burning the DVD or CD by using Microsoft Windows DVD or CD burning software. If you're using third-party CD/DVD writing software, follow the instructions for creating a data disc.
The same steps apply whether burning a CD or a DVD.
To create a DVD or CD:
Click here to begin downloading the update folder. Save it as "$SystemUpdate_Fall08.zip" anywhere on your computer.
Place a blank disc in your burner.
From Windows Explorer, select Open Writable CD Folder Using Windows Explorer or open the CD drive icon.
Open (double click) the zipped $SystemUpdate_ Fall08.zip folder and drag the contents of the zipped folder to the root of the CD Folder. If the CD write window doesn't open by default, drag and drop the folder onto the CD/DVD RW drive.
Note
If you are using an earlier version of Windows you will need to open the file using a separate utility (for example, WinZip).
In the Explorer window, click Write files to CD from the CD writing tasks or right-click the CD/DVD RW drive and select Write these files to CD.
Caution
The update filename and folder structure must be intact for the update to run properly.
Follow the steps in the CD wizard.
When you are finished with the wizard, the CD will eject. Your CD is ready.
To update the console:
Place the CD in the Xbox 360 console.
Power cycle the Xbox 360 console.
The update program will start automatically. Select Yes, update now and press A.
Wait for the update to complete.
When the console reboots, you're done.

könnte man eventuell auch Pinnen oder? vllt findet sich noch einer der es ins deutsche übersetzt, da ich diese Anleitung auf der deutschen Xbox Seite nicht finden konnte. :)

F: Was passiert, wenn meine Xbox 360 nicht online ist? Wie komme ich dann an das Update? Kann ich meine Xbox 360 verwenden, wenn ich das Update nicht habe?
A: Sobald das neue Update zur Verfügung steht, musst du eine Verbindung zu Xbox LIVE herstellen und die Aktualisierung laden. Kannst du deine Xbox 360 nicht mit Xbox LIVE verbinden, musst du keine Angst haben. Schon bald werden wir das Update auch auf anderem Wege anbieten. Spielst du das Update nicht ein, kannst du deine Xbox 360 auch weiterhin offline nutzen.

ich hab mal was von jan/feb `09 gelesen - reine vermutung/gerücht...
ich denke wenn man selber keinen brenner besitzt wird der Support wohl so höfflich sein und eine Update CD zukommen lassen oder machen die das nicht?
BTW: das mitm Runterladen, Brennen und Installieren funktioniert übrigens für alle Regionen ... falls sich jetzt jemand fragt weil die Seite auf Englisch ist und es die US-Xbox.com ist.
Danke für die Hilfe! Habs runtergeladen, gebrannt und werde es morgen wahrscheinlich bei ihm installieren. Werde berichten.
Edit: Habs getestet. Allerdings hat es nicht auf Anhieb funktioniert. Brannte die CD mit Nero... wollte er nicht.
Habs dann mit Windows direkt gebrannt... dann gings. Könnte aber auch sein, dass ich den Ablauf nicht 100%ig korrekt eingehalten habe. Kanns aber nicht mehr sagen.
BTW: Avatare gibt es sehr wohl auch bei "Offline" Konsolen. Nur ein eigenes Spielerbild kann nicht aufgenommen werden.
